BA(Media), GradDipEd, CertTrain&Assess
I am a registered Teacher (primary, secondary and adult education), with a background in Media Arts. Most of my life has been dedicated to education in a variety of forms, with the majority being 11 years in the classroom and more recently with a stint as a first aid educator for parents and caregivers.
My two beautiful children have challenged me in ways I never thought possible. I have found the road to becoming a mother a complex one.
I have learned that motherhood itself is, at times, both overwhelmingly wonderful and, in contrast, difficult. I realised that NOTHING prepares you until you live it, and everyone has a different story, that includes the journey to becoming a mother and motherhood itself.
All that I have learned and experienced, and my skills within education, have led me to my interest in perinatal mental health.

I am a registered Psychologist (Registration No: PSY0001965802) who graduated from Swinburne University with a Master in Psychology. Prior to this, I worked as a Registered Nurse for 13 years in several large Intensive Care Units.
During my Psychology studies I became a mother to two beautifully busy boys.
I always thought of myself as an independent and capable woman who had my s#!t together, but mothering disarmed me in a way I didn’t expect. At times I felt overwhelmed by motherhood. I wanted to be a ‘good’ mum who was ‘in control’. Admitting I couldn’t do it all myself and learning to ask and accept help took time. It was during these times, both personally and professionally I became interested in perinatal mental health.
I also work at an Animal Assisted Therapy private practice in Ferntree Gully, VIC with my therapy dog Crumpet. If you would like to book with me for individual therapy please contact 12 Points Psychology. I offer both face-to-face and telehealth options.
