Finding you: I’m not just a mum!
Tools 4 Motherhood
We believe that all mothers should be given the opportunity to thrive in their role as a mother and not at the expense of their personal identity. In a nurturing environment we teach you skills and strategies to reconnect with yourself to increase your confidence in your role as a mother, bring clarity to your decision making, and promote calmness within yourself. Over 6 weeks you will learn skills such as grounding, mindfulness, journaling and self-reflection to promote emotional wellbeing.
Each session is 2 hours in duration.
Workshop Series Aim
We strive to empower mothers to be the most successful version of themselves and promote wellness in motherhood. We specifically aim to promote emotional wellbeing, during the period known as ‘matrescence*’ and including the early childhood phase. Adjusting to motherhood is difficult, but we are all capable.
We believe that making mistakes is healthy, it is how we deal with these mistakes that can make a significant difference. We aim to promote emotional wellbeing by teaching practical tools for motherhood, including self-care, anger management, and self-compassion.
* As defined by Alexandra Sacks, MD, Psychiatrist, New York – as being the “developmental transition into motherhood.” https://www.ted.com/speakers/alexandra_sacks
Workshop Series Mission
To provide tools for motherhood to promote emotional well being and manage the emotional mental load of parenting young children.
We do this by providing facilitated workshops which utilise professional evidence-based practice, participant engagement and practical solutions.
We understand that each individual has different needs and will employ a variety of strategies to cope successfully.
*DISCLAIMER: This workshop series is NOT therapy, a crisis service or management and not appropriate for complex mental and psycho-social health needs (i.e., substance misuse, family violence, or suicidal). This is not a ‘mother’s group’ or ‘play group’ for children – the focus is predominantly on the woman herself. This is not an assessment service (i.e., for concerns about child's development etc). Should you require information regarding referral pathways please see our resources links or contact us directly.
